I am looking at a couple culinary schools right now. The New England Culinary Institute which is rated as one of the best in the country, The Scottsdale Culinary Institute in Arizona, and the Art Institute of San Diego. Right now I live in Massachussetts but my dream is to work in San Diego. The best school is probably the one in New England but it is all the way up in Vermont. I guess what I want to know is, is there really that much of a difference between schools?

Is culinary school really worth the money and time I spent?
I am half way through my culinary course (it is a classroom training combined with on-the-job training) right now and I am considering to drop the school and start working in a restaurant, because I think it is the cheapest way to learn about the industry and acquiring the skills. What do you think?

I’m 15 and would like to get in a top notch culinary school. I am valedictorian of my school, so grades for me aren’t an issue if that is involved.
